How They Grow
1
Inspect diamond seeds carefully to ensure they are free of inclusions.
2

Prepare the surface for growth and place diamond seeds on growth platform.
3
Control chamber pressure and temperature.
4

Inject ultra-pure carbon-rich gases and other gases into the chamber.
5
Excite the gases to an energy level where they form a plasma.
6
Let it rain. High-energy carbon precipitates out of a plasma cloud and is deposited on the seeds. The atoms are of sufficient energy that they form the diamond allotrope, rather than the lower energy graphite allotrope.
7

Let it grow. Wafer seeds gradually become diamond crystals, building up at a consistent rate until they reach the desired thickness.
8
Open chamber and remove diamond crystals.
